Town Crier Productions launched in the summer of 2020 to document local and regional government in and around Charlottesville to help people understand growth and development. The region continues to grow with a 3.2 percent population increase in the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission since the 2020 Census.
What policies are in place to accommodate new residents? How do the six localities in the TJPDC interact with each other? Who is taking a look at the big picture?
Through the newsletter Charlottesville Community Engagement and the website Information Charlottesville, Town Crier Productions continues to provide a valuable window into decisions such as Charlottesville’s adoption of a new zoning code and Albemarle County’s relatively new emphasis on economic development.
